Tasting : Opened 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, dark garnet color with a lighter brick red rim. Damp earth, ripe plum and sweet spice aromas. VERY smooth, peppery JUICY and slightly alcohol hot mouthfeel, medium body and a 400-grit texture. Ripe and juicy blackberry, boysenberry, plum and licorice flavors. Nice edgy acidity, very, very fine grained tannins and a delicious bitter blackberry sweet fruit finish. We enjoyed it with the white chili, but not so much sipping after the dinner. The ripeness of the grapes gave this Grenache Blend a unique character that should appeal to a large percent of red wine drinkers. We were not as taken with the ripe fruit and called it a very interesting and luscious Grenache blend.
